BRIDGE COURSES

BRIDGE EDUCATION IN UNIT 249

Unit 249 supports clubs and individuals in their respective efforts to teach the game of bridge and to support the training of bridge teachers throughout South Western Ontario.

Bridge Lessons

Several bridge clubs within Unit 249 offer bridge lessons. Bridge courses range in level from beginner, to novice and to advancing players. Each of the following clubs offers a variety of bridge courses throughout the year.

FREE PLAYS FOR BRIDGE STUDENTS

Free Plays for Bridge Students

Individuals who complete an introductory bridge course will be provided with 3 Free Plays to a sanctioned bridge game at their club. Bridge instructors will distribute Free Plays to students who have successfully completed their introductory bridge course. This is an excellent opportunity for newer players to get introduced to sanctioned bridge sessions.

TEACHER ACCREDIDATION PROGRAM

Teacher Accreditation Program

ACBL’s Teacher Accreditation Program (TAP) provides an exceptional foundation for players who would like to become bridge teachers. Prospective teachers will be shown methods on how to teach the game in a fun, exciting, and effective manner by utilizing a broad range of teaching materials.

In addition to the ACBL Bridge Series, teachers will be given sample lessons that include demonstrations from material provided by Eddie Kantar, Audrey Grant, Pat Harrington, and Barbara Seagram.

Unit249 will reimburse the course fee to individuals who successfully complete the Teacher Accreditation Program. Teachers who join the American Bridge Teachers Association will also have their membership reimbursed by Unit 249.
